Doing a Boudoir or Glamour shoot can be really intimidating for a lot of you (trust me, i’ve been there!) so this is why I try to explain the process as much as possible so you don’t have any surprise  (and I think you might even look forward to it, it’s so much fun!)

So the process can be divided into 3 : pre-shoot, shoot and after-shoot. The whole process usually takes 2 to 3 months (first talk: week 1; shoot, 3 to 6 weeks later; private gallery access : one week later; products delivery: 2 to 4 weeks later, depending on the products).

I suggest you book at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance, as I only take a limited number of shoots per week to be able to spend all the required time with each client, and for you to be able to prepare yourself as well.

Step 1:

Pre-consultation

As soon as you send me an email or book a shoot online, I will email you back with questions and ask if you want us to chat. If you live nearby, we can do the consultation in person at the studio, but usually we do it by phone, Zoom or just regular chat or email. It’s your call 🙂 We will set up a time that is convenient for you and I’ll answer any question you may have.

We will discuss your style, needs, concerns, budget, talk about clothing, posing, decors, hair & makeup, etc. Don’t be afraid to ask me anything at all.  We will also decide of the date and which experience you want to try.  If you have chosen an experience involving our stylist, she will then contact you to schedule your consultation with her.

Step 2:

Hair & Makeup

The big day has arrived…. When you arrive at the studio, we’ll offer you a tour so you get familiar with the place and start visualizing where the magic will happen. We’ll checkout your clothes and accessories you bought to get an idea of your shoot (and yes, it is normal to be a pack of nerves at that moment…).

Our hair stylist and makeup artist will then take care of you and do their own magic on you. All our experiences include hair and makeup because first, it helps you relax before the shoot.  Then, even though you might know how to do your makeup, everyday makeup and photography makeup are not the same.  We usually need to add more for it to show in photos, and the makeup artist is a professional who knows what to emphasize so that it turns out well in photo.  Unless you are a makeup artist yourself, I strongly suggest you use her services.

Step 3:

What to Wear?

The big question… What to wear for a photo shoot? I can give you ideas when we will discuss the style of your shoot, or if you have chosen an experience involving our stylist, she will have helped you pick up the best outfits prior to the shoot. In all the cases, I always recommend bringing more than less. Sometimes an outfit fits better in our decor than the other, so more choices is always best.  Of course don’t forget shoes and accessories/jewelry. We also have some accessories ourselves, so you can always complete the look with some of our stuff.

So once you are all prepped up, we will check out your clothes and decide which ones we will do in which decors, depending on the style and mood you have in mind.

Step 4:

The Shoot

Now the fun part! Don’t worry, I will help and guide you the whole way. It is not YOUR job to know how to pose, or how to make a great photograph, it is mine, so relax and just have fun. Depending on the experience you chose, we will try various outfits and decors, and the shoot should last between one and two hours.

And by the way, our studio is an women-only zone, so you’ll definitely feel comfortable with us, I promise 😉

Final Step: private gallery & product selection

After the shoot, you can go home, relax and be proud of the amazing photos you have just created.  During the following weeks, I will review them, select the best and retouch them so that I can present them to you in your private gallery.

About 1-2 weeks after the shoot, I will share a private, password-protected gallery for you to view and choose the photos from the comfort of your home. You will select your favorite ones, tell me which additional touchups you want (if any), and decide which products you want to buy (view the list here). Once you have placed your order, it usually takes 2-4 weeks to have them delivered to you. That’s it !
